U.S. president Obama's popularity ratings are at 51% in 2016 similar to Reagan's in his last year. In June 2016 he announced his endorsement of Hillary and efforts to unite the Democratic Party behind Clinton, including bringing Sanders supporters behind the nominee. This is also an effort to preserve his legacy. For Hillary Obama's and Sander's support is needed to improve support among younger women, and others who supported Obama in 2008 and 2012, especially with the wide differences with Republican nominee Trump.

Downes reflects on what it means to be an immigrant to the U.S. Obama never experenced this and for all his striving to appeal to immigrants and their future, Downes reminds us that he was the expeller-in-chief who expelled more immigrants than any of his predecessors. He also reminds us that it is not only the engineer that contributes to the future of the U.S.

A sense that the earlier dedication to helping Roseland and places like it that need a special kind of help is missing from the President. Obama's advisers speak of inclusiveness and helping all minorities and the working class, yet while the stimulus helped the economy after the financial crisis, the lack of help to millions of homeowners facing foreclosure worsened the situation for minorities and the struggling middle class.

Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Obama. Epstein looks at the WSP's and the Meritocrats and how there is little progress, somewhat the reverse with meritocrats. He says college reputations don't count for much in capacity for genuine service to the country- citing Truman and Reagan as examples of leaders without prestigious university backgrounds or WASP background who served America well and are respected decades later.

A National Academy of Sciences Report in 2014 after 2 years of research on America's prison population, says correctional prison facility costs are $80 billion a year and reach $250 billion when including all other expenses. Failure to focus on rehabilitation leads to two thirds returning back to prison. And the cost is also borne by 2.1 million children growing up without a parent. The biggest burden of this extensive policy of incarceration is borne by minorities.

A campaign developed by campaign consultants lacking boldness and clear vision, one developed in test-tube fashion, is how Friedman describes the Obama election campaign. He describes the long period in the second half of 2011 as a crucial period inthe Obama presidency, when Obama lacked the courage to embrace his own presidential commission's Simpson-Bowles plan for deficit reduction and simply vacillated in a back and forth with Republicans. The price may well be the loss of independent and center-right voters.

The focus on health care reform comes at the wrong time when when the U.S. economy and high unemployment were priorities that needed attention, say experts. Feldstein points elsewhere to the lack of attention to the housing crisis and reducing foreclosures through homeowner assistance. These errors of the Obama administration increased business uncertainty in the U.S. just as the eurozone crisis worsened.

The Economist magazine has a By invitation Essay by U.S. president Obama in the Oct 8-14th 2016 edition of the magazine. In the essay Obama describes the unfinished agenda of his two terms in office. The financial crisis of 2008-2009 took up a big part of the first term, leaving much that needs to be done for an economic recovery for all Americans, including those left behind in the recovery. The growing inequality, and improving job opportunities are other parts of this unfinished work.

To understand the Obama presidency one has to understand the people worund him, including Dennis McDonough. Dana Milbank of the Washington Post describes his encounter with McDonough in Jan. 2016, with McDonough being very careful about a choice of words, and seeing him as very cautious- way more cautious than Obama, says Milbank. This may explain some of the decisions taken during the second term of the Obama presidency, including foreign policy, which contrast greatly with the decisiveness of Clinton, and even more with Truman, Democrats who preceded Obama and acted decisively in the Balkans for Clinton and Berlin, Greece, Korea for Truman.

T.R.'s speech set the nation on a course that would create the modern social and economic fabric we have today. Obama's speech lacked much of the deep insight, far reaching themes, persuasion and appeal showed by T.R.

We took a different way to help millions around the world build educated informed mindsets that affects and shapes their lives. For a future that is open, global and digital, with everyone having access to high quality information. We believe in the renewal of America, renewal of Europe, the renewal of India, the rest of Asia, Latin America and Africa. The renewal of our supply chains, health, education, infrastructure, as we rebuild our countries after the pandemic. Literacy and knowledge we believe cannot thrive and grow in a world of web bots, web crawlers, or AI. This requires human curiosity, human learning, and human imagination. We take as inspiration the saying- “One has to be free, and as broad as sky. One has to have a mind that is crystal clear, only then can truth shine in it.” Every contribution whether big or small is precious- in this crisis and ahead.
