With higher inflation and low interest rates in China, Chinese households earn a negative interest rate on their savings. This does not help to rebalance the economy, or promote domestic consumption. Policies are vague about rates at the 2011 People's Congress.

Economist 03/05/2011
Changes in policy at the Congress meeting in favor of increased spending on social programs and improving conditions for lower wage earners. Increases in food prices, democracy movements in the Arab world and rising disparity between incomes of urban and rural areas, poor job creation by state owned companies in capital intensive industries, result in a change in policies. Skepticism about the implementation of these policies based on past experience.

The United States Information Service centers in Asia and other parts of the world were an important way America communicated with the people in the urban areas of these countries in the 1970's. Gradually these centers declined with many of them closed down and the USIS did not receive the funding and support it deserved. So that by the 1990's America had lost a crtical opportunity to build an understanding and rapport with new generations of young people in these countries. The need to rebuild and refund the USIS.

We took a different way to help millions around the world build educated informed mindsets that affects and shapes their lives. For a future that is open, global and digital, with everyone having access to high quality information. We believe in the renewal of America, renewal of Europe, the renewal of India, the rest of Asia, Latin America and Africa. The renewal of our supply chains, health, education, infrastructure, as we rebuild our countries after the pandemic. Literacy and knowledge we believe cannot thrive and grow in a world of web bots, web crawlers, or AI. This requires human curiosity, human learning, and human imagination. We take as inspiration the saying- “One has to be free, and as broad as sky. One has to have a mind that is crystal clear, only then can truth shine in it.” Every contribution whether big or small is precious- in this crisis and ahead.
