Toyota goes after the lower price points in emerging markets with the IMV series. Renault goes for a lower price point for buyers in its home markets in France and the rest of Europe with its Dacia and Logan models. Both are expected to cross the 1 million mark sales point in 2012. Renault achieves a 6% operating margin on the low price point vehicles priced at around $10,000, breaking the myth that lower price points cannot generate profits.

Reforms at Pemex and opening up the oil industry to foreign investment were held up in the Calderon administration after repeated efforts by the PAN party government to get the PRI and PRD's support. The final changes to the bill to make it more attractive for foreign oil companies to compete with Pemex were pushed by PAN in alliance with the PRI Nieto administration in 2013. The cost to Mexico is a lost decade in oil exploration in deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and a steep decline in oil revenues as Mexico turned into a net energy importer in March 2013, according to the WSJ.

Some lives are saved but the large number of women who begin treatment when they have no cancer shows the technology is still not there for effective screening without arousing fears that are not founded. Both studies confirm this from decades of data of women taking mammograms.

Janvoo sees this in the context of the world beyond, of Aisa and Latin America which have moved beyond the divisive politics of the past and away from military regimes- S. Korea, Thailand, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and one party PRI Mexico. The return of Gen. Park's daughter as president of S. Korea was a different one when she apologized for the behaviour of her father, even saying she coud not spit on the image of her father. Nieto's PRI is apologetic about its past and says its different, working with the opposition PRD and PAN parties on constitutional changes for reforming the econoy. Egypt and the Arab world is no exception. The Saudis and Emirates are able to deliver in economic terms as long as oil supplies and prices are high. Egypt has to find its own path and learn from the past to build the future.

Mexico's oil law comes as the nation faced a crisis in declining oil production since 2006. Efforts by the newly elected PAN party Calderon administration in that year and throughout its term in office failed to open up the oil industry to foreign investment, as the PRI and the PRD opposition parties opposed this. A two thirds majority in Congress was needed to change the constitution allowing foreign oil companies to compete with state owned Pemex. The increasing oil production from shale in the U.S. and Canada has increased the urgency, and the potential in deep waters off Mexico for which Pemex needs the technology of foreign oil companies has added to this.
