With Iran's right to enrichment accepted by the Obama administration, Iran sees its goals have been achieved. For the Obama administration this is a right to enrich for peaceful uses of nuclear energy and limiting the enrichment with conditionality. There is also the heavy water reactor at Arak and possible hidden facilities, which have to be included in a future agreement in a series of smaller agreements as trust and credibility is gained on both sides- as Iran's isolation decreases and climate of discourse with the outside world improves.

Novartis Earnings Fall on Slide in Cancer-Drug Sales
Wall Street Journal 04/22/16
The issues of what drugs are patentable in India,"evergreening" for patents, and public health concerns throughout developing countries, that are now before the Indian Supreme Court. India permitted the patenting of drugs only since 2005 under a WTO agreement, and there are restrictions on "evergreening," or small modifications of existing drugs for marketing. Novartis and other pharmaceutical companies aim to use the case to restrict Indian generic pharmaceuticals manufacturers from coming up with lowcost versions of new drugs. The leukemia treatment developed by Novartis costs over $70,000, by comparison Indian generic manufacturers can make a version of this for $2500.

Inhalers for asthma and drugs for asthma cost many times more in the U.S. compared to Europe and India, making it impossible for ordinary American families to afford needed treatment for children that affluent families take for granted. Even affluent or upper middle class families find the cost of these inhalers shocking compared to how little they cost in Europe and India.

Bloomberg estimates show every one dollar of new credit created now yields about 17 cents in GDP growth as old polices of state led growth are no longer working. This compares to over 83 cents in 2007. Financial repression by reducing interest rates for savers is further depressing consumer spending when it is most needed to rebalance the economy towards domestic consumption.

We took a different way to help millions around the world build educated informed mindsets that affects and shapes their lives. For a future that is open, global and digital, with everyone having access to high quality information. We believe in the renewal of America, renewal of Europe, the renewal of India, the rest of Asia, Latin America and Africa. The renewal of our supply chains, health, education, infrastructure, as we rebuild our countries after the pandemic. Literacy and knowledge we believe cannot thrive and grow in a world of web bots, web crawlers, or AI. This requires human curiosity, human learning, and human imagination. We take as inspiration the saying- “One has to be free, and as broad as sky. One has to have a mind that is crystal clear, only then can truth shine in it.” Every contribution whether big or small is precious- in this crisis and ahead.
