Motorola's employees in Libertyville, Illinois with a focus on hardware manufacturing and quality have a different mindset than Google's internet software engineers based in Mountain View, California. The problems in integrating the two cultures. Dictating on the part of Google engineers might not sit well with long time Motorola engineers, says one Motorola employee. Google also needs to understand manufacturing and working with the distribution side of the business, skills it sorely lacks.
