The pace of fund raising, the appeal to young people and the lead among unmarried women, of the Sanders campaign makes the Democratic nomination a close contest between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. The mood of voters who are not looking for incremental change emphasized in the Clinton campaign speeches also plays a role. Unlike the Republican nomination which is largely a winner take all contest for delegates and could end early, the Democratic nomination based on a proportional allocation of delegates from the percentage of the vote gained increases chances of the fight dragging on.
