Dennis Muilenburg succeeds Jim McNerney as CEO of Boeing in July 2015. He is former head of Boeing's defense and space business. Muilenburg's challenges include reducing costs on the 787 Dreamliner, and adapting its defense business to the situation of cuts in U.S. defense spending for reducing the deficit. Muilenburg was made president and COO in Dec. 2013.

Former CEO McNerney will remain as chairman, and Boeing's strategy will remain in place. During McInerney's period as CEO Boeing experienced manufacturing delays on the Dreamliner and reduced the size of its defense business. A surge in orders for commercial planes from airlines puts Boeing well positioned for the future. The share price doubled during McInerney's 10 years as CEO. Muilenburg was head of the Defense and Space business before being made the new president of Boeing.

The renewal of our supply chains, health, education, infrastructure, as we rebuild our countries after the pandemic. Literacy and knowledge we believe cannot thrive and grow in a world of web bots, web crawlers, or AI. This requires human curiosity, human learning, and human imagination. We take as inspiration the saying- “One has to be free, and as broad as sky. One has to have a mind that is crystal clear, only then can truth shine in it.” Every contribution whether big or small is precious- in this crisis and ahead.
