When he took office president Moon halted installation of 4 addition Thaad anti missile launchers, now Moon supports installation. and it is moving ahead.  Anti-war activists earlier protested the installation at a golf course in Soseong-ri, and formed a group supporting Moon. Now only a few protesters are to be seen, says Lyons.

And having read Jim Collins book "How the Mighty Fall", Toyoda thinks Toyota is already at the fourth stage of decline in the five stages Collins has outlined. The Microsoft Board of Directors has nine members with extensive management experience, no member younger than 56 years, one member from IBM with 28 years working for the company, an auto executive, and two former bank executives. There is no member who understands well or has a grasp of the technologies sweeping the internet and the information technology field. Incredible story of a Denmark software company run by a 41 year old bodybuilder Stein Bagger, who called it IT Factory. The company, its software deals, everything about it including Stein Bagger's PhD was phony, and in the end outrageously unbelievable that something like this could be allowed to happen. How gullible can people get? This fellow was named Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the year with a Danish minister present at an event in Copenhagen, just when he was surrendering to police in Los Angeles. Banks and IBM and other firms lost $182 in total as this fellow borrowed from banks to record fake deals of purchases by phony customers from his company.

GE is moving head offices of major operations overseas like GE Healthcare moving from Wisconsin to outside London, England, where a company GE acquired Amersham is located. GE Money will move it head offices to London, England from Stamford, Connecticut. And GE Transportation moved its annual sales meeting from its head offices in Erie, Pennsylvania to Sorrento, Italy. GE now generates over half of its sales overseas and its fastest growth businesses are in infrastructure and turbines that are in Asia. With the slowing USA economy this point has simply hit home. And IBM which gets 65% of its revenue overseas has been a clear proponent of this strategy of locating where the growth opportunities are greatest, a poin not lost on Immelt at GE who sees it essential to be part of the culture you are selling to. IBM operates most of its software and services business from India. This is also true for things like Training and R&D increasingly moved overseas to places like Bangalore, Beijing and Shanghai. Another aspect of this is to expose Americans to working overseas and to avoid he insulation of becoming too immersed only in American culture and not be able to operate effectively in other cultures, languages and environments, where increasingly most of the action is....

This opinion in the Hindusthan Times points out that prime minister Modi's speech at Kozhikode following a militant attack in Kashmir in September 2016, reflects a long standing policy since the late 1970's of Congress party and BJP or Janata party administrations. The idea is to encourage cross border exchanges to reduce tensions. The emphasis in back channel talks between India and Pakistan also emphasize the idea of CBM, cross border movement. The prime minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif, has also expressed in the past the importance of cross border movement and trade as ways to improve the economies of both countries. The idea of building up trade and increased exchanges between the two countries is supported also by the U.S. and other western countries. The example of Ireland and Northern Ireland where trade and cross border exchanges are considered important by all parties after Brexit, is an example of how important this is.
