More frequent than that does not give added benefit. The quality of social connectedness is also important - having someone who cares and one trusts. A Gallup poll in 2023 shows 17% of Americans are lonely and one third of people under 30 years 18-30 years are lonely. Research shows that between the last year of medical schoool and the first year of residency, the depression risks grow 5 times. Of people in US medical residency programs it found that 25% considered self-harm, 20% know peer or colleague who considered suicide -US residents in 2024 survey by Physician  Foundation. First year residents get about $67,000 a year and have total average debt of $200,000.
