Spain's appliance maker Fagor and the Mondragon co-op network- bad decisions leading to bankruptcy

Expansion by buying a French appliance maker to compete with Electrolux and Whirlpool and other decisions that led to Fagor's bankruptcy. As other appliance makers moved work to plants in emerging markets Fagor kept jobs at home and found it increasingly difficult to compete. In the end the other co-ops in the Mondragon co-op network decided against supporting Fagor with new cash infusions.
