A different view of Henry Kissinger that questions his policies based on Realpolitik of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, policies of the Austrian chancellor Metternich. "A World Restored: Metternich, Castlereagh and the Problems of Peace 1812-1822" is the title of Kissinger's dissertation at Harvard for doctoral degree. It was based on politics based on the balance of power after the defeat of Napoleon. This led Kissinger who came from Germany and was influenced deeply by Metternich's approach to conduct international relations with wins in opening relations with China, and losses in expanding the war with Vietnam to Indochina, and wars in Bangladesh and Cyprus.
