The antiquated nature of the electoral college system that decides elections for president in the U.S. Under this system there can be a close election in the popular vote by a margin of 1-2 % and still have the winner take a huge majority in the electoral college. It also makes states where elections are not close irrelevant for campaigning purposes and framing the message candidates make- in the last three elections this means the South and Plains states which are Republican and the West and East coasts which are Democrat largely irrelevant for campaigning, creating a situation where large parts of the country are simply ignored.

The electorial college, shrinking number of battleground states to the midwest, and the disenfrachisement of the south, west and east coast regions in the U.S.

The winner take all system for each state in the electoral college based on who gets the most votes in each state, makes it not worthwhile for a presidental candidate in the U.S. to campaign in whole regions of the south, east and west coastal regions. The result is to effectively disenfranchise voters in these states and let a handful of counties in the midwest and some in the east to decide what policies the U.S. will be governed by for the next 4 years. Imagine a situation in which the largest states and metropolitan regions- Texas, California, New York, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Dallas, have no say whatsoever. This is not a healthy situation for the country.

We took a different way to help millions around the world build educated informed mindsets that affects and shapes their lives. For a future that is open, global and digital, with everyone having access to high quality information. We believe in the renewal of America, renewal of Europe, the renewal of India, the rest of Asia, Latin America and Africa. The renewal of our supply chains, health, education, infrastructure, as we rebuild our countries after the pandemic. Literacy and knowledge we believe cannot thrive and grow in a world of web bots, web crawlers, or AI. This requires human curiosity, human learning, and human imagination. We take as inspiration the saying- “One has to be free, and as broad as sky. One has to have a mind that is crystal clear, only then can truth shine in it.” Every contribution whether big or small is precious- in this crisis and ahead.
