The cultural identity of the Nation that has existed since the founders Washington and Jefferson, and since it's second beginning Lincoln and then TR and FDR,  was seen to be at risk in 2024, yet no party has put forward the need for Cultural Literacy as a Nation as part of national classroom education, a plea by E.D.Hirsch Jr. of University of Virginia, and others, from the 1980's onwards. Kash Patel is a public defender from New York, who worked in the NSC staff in the first Trump term. He is of Gujarati East Africa origin who studied at University of Richmond for history and Pace University for his JD. He actively defended DJT in what is known as the Nunes memo for the Mueller investigation into links with Russia. He also faced opposition after Defense Secretary Esper was replaced and he served as assistant to the new Defense Secretary, in appointment to the FBI, by then Attorney General William Barr. Kash Patel actively campaigned for DJT during the 2024 campaign. In addition to cost of living crisis for middle and working class families, unease about migration and the lack of Democrats sensitivity and urgency to serious issues raised by fentanyl flows and migrants crossing the border, the pressure on Border Patrol, were major issues in western, southern and midwestern states, leading to a Republicans gaining the White House, the Senate and the House in 2024.  The cultural identity of the Nation that has existed since the founders Washington and Jefferson, and since it's second beginning Lincoln and then TR and FDR,  was seen to be at risk, yet no party has put forward the need for Cultural Literacy as a Nation as part of national classroom education, a plea by E. Parussini describes the different style of new RBI Governor Urjit Patel, who is no rock star economist like his predecessor Raghuram Rajan. Rajan is quoted as once saying; "My name is Raghuram Rajan and I do what I do." Rajan engaged widely with the media. At his first press conference Patel made a short statement thanking RBI staff, and turned it over to staff at RBI who talked about financial supervision, banking regulation and other issues. Patel's answers were short without follow-up questions, the whole event over in 20 minutes. Patel was chosen by the new government of prime minister Modi to run RBI in 2016.

Pam Bondi, US Attorney General gives a vigorous defense of the DJT administration and the president in hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee. She tells US senators it was Democrats who politicized the Justice Department first. And Bondi defended the hard work of the administration in fighting illegal immigration and violent crime. In 5 hours of exchanges she answered Senators on the other side- “Don’t you ever challenge my integrity.” “I have abided by every ethical standard. Do not question my ability to be fair and impartial as attorney general.” She told Senator Durbin of Illinois when asked about the sending of the National Guard to Chicago- “I wish you loved Chicago as much as you hate President Trump." Senator Graham of South Carolina, and Senator Grassley of Iowa who is the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, asked Bondi why the Jack Smith investigation into Trump under president Biden had looked at phone calls made by Senator Graham and by Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri, both Republicans. Graham asked Bondi: “Can you tell me why my phone records were sought by the Jack Smith agents? Why did they ask to know who I called?” Grassley called this an "outrage" and an "unconstitutional breach." At the same time FBI Director Kash Patel said on X that he had fired "those who had acted unethically" in this situation. These exchanges show the mood of the Nation and the people as the National Guard heads to Chicago in September 2025 to reduce violent crime and tackle illegal immigration.     ...

The Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council in India lowered the growth rate for the current fiscal year through March to 7.1%. Growth is expected to improve in the next fiscal year to 7.5%-8.0%. C. Rangarajan, the head of the advisory group says he sees the fiscal deficit exceeding the budgeted target of 4.6% of GDP. One panel member says the fiscal deficit target could be exceeded by as much as 1%. Rangarajan emphasized the need to cut subsidies and raise some indirect taxes. India's central bank governor, Subbarao, also emphasized the need to cut subsidies and reduce the deficit in a recent interview with Wall Street Journal reporters Frangos and Jain, Feb. 14, 2012. Lower foreign investment, and reduced credit after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI, India's central bank) increased rates repeatedly, and lower exports due to the eurozone crisis, have reduced the growth rate. The panel expects inflation of 6.5% in March 2012, which Mr. Rangarajan considers to be high. Deputy Governor of the RBI, K.C. Chakrabarty says 7% growth is reasonable under the conditions, as inflation has to be lowered to below 5% to accelerate growth to 9%. Chakrabarty does not see any quick turnaround in growth rates in the next fiscal year with all the headwinds facing the Indian economy....

Simple changes in style-“I’m not planning on wearing a suit, and I don’t expect you to wear one.” Patel on Week 1, Feb 27 2025. Raises fitness requirements for FBI agents and gets his personal fitness trainer a pass into FBI. Oath of office taken on the Indian Bible the Bhagavad Gita held by Attorney General Pam Bondi. Also oath for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, Explosives. Addressing crime in cities including Detroit, Cleveland, Minneapolis. Action to move 1500 FBI agents to these cities in a regionalization plan out of Washington DC. Regionalize the FBI throughout the Nation to make it serve the safety of cities and neighborhoods throughout these United States. It reflects the illegal fentanyl flows into the United States from foreign countries that led to 490,000 deaths in the US over 12 years on which previous action of administrations has clearly been a colossal failure. Following the people's mandate to make America's neighborhoods safe for children and families, protecting the social compact with its people of the elected government. The unwritten aspects of the US Constitution or of any sensible Constitution of any civilized nation. To focus the FBI on internal threats in America's cities and neighborhoods from drugs, gangs and fentanyl flows that illegally enter the country. And not on foreign threats during this period when this social compact in the US is threatened by fentanyl flows and 490,000 deaths over the last 12 years. ...

Unorthodox cabinet nominees- Kash Patel at FBI, Tulsi Gabbard at Intelligence get nominated. Others where the nominee is supported broadly by moms and parents, and many senators Rand Paul and Ron Johnson who are highly enthusiastic, are RFK Jr. for Health Secretary who still faced questioning from Republican Kennedy and other Republicans. All of them get nominated by Feb 15, 2025. Republicans in Congress stay together, Democrats do the same strangely opposing everything on the other side, including action on obesity and chemicals in food, drug industry practices they have been railing against for years that are RFK's agenda.  By tapping into different ideas just because they are good, make common sense, and not worrying too much about whether it is from the opposing Kennedy clan, and willing to take some risk with Patel and Gabbard, try youngsters such as Pam Bondi at Justice Department, Elise Stefanik at the UN and Kate Leavitt as Press Secretary, a woman Kristi Noem in the toughest job there is today at Homeland Security, DJT and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles have put forward a different set of people highly motivated, more than a bit rambunctious and boisterous, to get things done on immigration zero illegal migrants, zero fentanyl deaths, and zero deindustrializing technology transfers to the Nation's competitors, and zero play except on a level playing field in trade and business. ...

The sense that one gets from the confirmation hearings for Pam Bondi is that after Matt Gaetz pulled out, Pam Bondi with her relaxed and thoughtful manner, her experience as Attorney General of Florida, is a decent choice. Most Senators felt she had the votes for confirmation. She brings the same skills for Republicans as Susan Wiles, DJT's chief of staff- she brings a calm demeanor to balance DJT's penchant for speaking in a blunt manner.  Pam Bondi confirmed that if nominated as head of FBI Kash Patel would report to her. Chris Coon accidentally calls her "Attorney General," and says he looks forward with working with her. Coons is the Senator from Delaware that was closest to president Biden.  Senators questioned Pam Bondi, a former Attorney General of Florida who has done work for companies seeking to work with DJT, and defended DJT in the first impeachment hearing, at her confirmation hearing in the US Senate. The back and forth exchanges happened with Democrats Adam Schiff and Hirano. With Padilla Pam Bondi was not given the opportunity to respond as he insisted on a yes or no answer. Democrats Schiff wanted to know whether she would investigate Lynn Cheney or Jack Smith. Bondi said she had not seen the file and it would e improper for to say anything without studying the matter, and that she did not want to drag politics into the work at the Justice Department as had been the situation before. Hirano asked if president Biden won the 2020 election. Pam Bondi responded that "Joe Biden is the president of the US."   ...

Britain's Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, says "the integrity of the City matters to the economy of Britain," as he takes strong action to safeguard financial benchmark rates set in the City of London. Following the manipulation of LIBOR for which banks paid heavy fines this is a major issue. New legislation will make it a criminal offense, punishable with 7 years in prison. Manipulation will be determined based on the intentions of traders to place trades or share information so that their interests are served above a client's interest. Not just LIBOR, other benchmarks such as London foreign exchange benchmark rate, key gold and silver rate, ICE Brent index and Sterling Overnight Index Average (Sonia), ISADFix, are also included in this legislation.

The home ownership rate for the U.S. in March 2012, is 65.4%, the same rate as in 1997 before the housing bubble, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The irony of this is that the housing bubble was inflated by politicians in Congress and mortgage lenders and purchasers of mortgage securities. Fannie Mae and Countryside worked together ostensibly to promote home ownership while pursuing profits. In the case of politicians they pursued goals of raising employment and growth without understanding the risks of artificially inflating home ownership, and without consideration for incomes of subprime borrowers. A less benign view of the interests and goals of politicians comes from reflections on the impact of political lobbying by Fannie Mae and other housing lenders in the U.S. Congress. The consequences in terms of foreclosures have been devastating for minorities as well as other middle class homeowners. It has also damaged the U.S. banking system, credit growth in the economy and prospects for recovery, which will take years to correct. The federal government is also saddled with large losses at Fannie Mae because of its quasi government agency role. That role led to inflation of the bubble. Most of the consequences will be borne by middle and lower income households in the U.S. The pass-through effects in a global economy affect Europe, and emerging market countries. ...
