Bolivia's economy showed 6.5% growth in 2013 and the portion of the people in extreme poverty has dropped from 38% in 2005 to 24% in 2013. Policies of president Morales are winning praise for being prudent from the IMF and the World Bank. A greater share of the revenues from natural gas production and high natural gas prices, Bolivia's main export products, has enabled the government to build international reserves to $14 billion. This is half the country's GDP, and the highest ratio of reserves to GDP in the world. Morales has adopted socialist policies and at the same time provided fiscally responsible management, showing the two are not inconsistent and can be adapted to local conditions to build a middle class and improve living conditions.

He has only a few months to live after getting brain cancer, and decides he is going to make the best use of this time by writing this book. He points to the futility of active money management. Criticism is that it does little to protect the rights of migrant workers from the rural areas in the huge wave of urbanization that is going on in China and India as well, and does little where enforcement is weak. On the other hand cases like that of Huawei a Chinese telecom maker are attracting notice as they violate the laws protections for workers with more than ten years of employment who get job security and companies have to inform the union before firing employees. Huawei asked 7000 employees with more than 10 years of experience to resign before being hired for short term positions.

Computer availability will be ubiquitous , and it will be more intuitive and interactive. Intel architecture will move towards the cell phone market. And moving to the next level 450 millimeter wafers from today's 300 millimeter wafers will cut the cost of producing each chip by 40%.
