Bhutan is a small mountain kingdom in north eastern India, bordering Tibet. Historically close ties with Tibet continued after China's takeover of Tibet following the coming to power of China's Communist Party in 1949. This led to a friendship treaty with India in 1949. A narrow piece of terrritory with 34 square kilometres is part of the dispute between China and India. India opposed the move to build Chinese roads in the area leading to a standoff that is now over 50 days. This territory is significant because it connects India's central plains to the northeastern states. Bhutan opposes the Chinese road work but tries to maintain friendly relations with China. The close relationship between India and Bhutan is part of the situation that emerged after China's takeover of Tibet. The Royal Bhutan Army's salaries are paid by India, road construction is done by India, and subsidies for food and kerosene were provided by India. A parliamentary democracy with a monarch was established in Bhutan under king Jigme Wangchuk, and elections were held in 2008, 2013. New figures released by Britain's Office of National Statistics in June 2013 show a difficult road ahead for the British economy. Britain's economy is suffering from a lack of investment. Exports are 1.5% lower, even after pound sterling has dropped by 25% in trade weighted terms since 2007. Manufacturing output is 11% lower than in 2008.

In the final run in the Alps Julian Alaiphilippe of France who had shaken up the race faltered, Geraint Thomas  also did not keep up. so that Bernal with the Andean training and serious work prevailed with 1 minute 11 seconds to spare to win. Much of his maturity comes from working within a family where the mom and dad live together to keep costs down but have separated. As the elder of two children Bernal gained maturity in having to work with both parents to keep the home together. The first thing he has done with his new earnings is to buy a flat for his mom. Baker and Erlanger describe Russian president Putin's effort to finance parties on the right and the left to oppose western sanctions on Russia. The effort by Russian television RT to spread disinformation in the European Union. The goal is to create fractures in European unity and weaken the European Union and NATO. Other experts such as former national intelligence officer, Fiona Hill, and former assistant secretary of state, David Kramer, are skeptical about the effectiveness of these methods. These methods may also come from an old book of methods from the Cold War period because of president Putin's experience in Dresden during the Soviet days, which current European Union leaders would see as having little relevance to the global economy and global scene of today. The rise of the smaller parties in Europe in opposition to the traditional parties has more to do with the difficult economic conditions in Europe, and has little in common with Russia and its problems with its oil dependent economy and its interests in Eastern Europe. As the 2015 Pew Research survey on Europe shows, opinion is shifting towards greater support for the European Union as economic conditions improve, and is likely to move further in this direction with a return to economic growth. Favorable views of the EU which dropped from 60% in 2012 to 53% in 2014, was up to 61% in 2015, according to the survey. The Euroskeptic parties are viewed "as a good thing," as a way to shake up the complacency of the major ruling parties in tackling the economy, according to the Pew Europe Survey. In the percentage of people who see the Euroskeptic parties as a good thing for the country- Podemos left party in Spain gets 70% favorable rating, UK Independence Party 66% favorable, Five Star Movement in Italy 58%, AfD in Germany 50%, and much less so in France with 36% saying this for the National Front, and 36% for the New Right in Poland....

The first undersea rail tunnel of this kind under Thane Creek for 21 kilometres on the Mumbai side. The 508 kilometer distance cuts travel time between two major commercial cities in western India from 7 to 2 hours. It will then be replicated after completion in 2027 and 2029 (final), across other Indian cities north to south east to west. PM Modi has emphasized this in vist to Surat last week talking to engineering personnel that the important aspect is what can be learnt from this section of bullet train engineering that can be replicated or improved across many Indian cities, over a land mass almost the size of European Union (3.3 million square kms India to 4.3 million EU). Technology: India uses the Japanese Shinkansen E10 Series. In comparison Kawasaki Steel technology of an earlier generation used for China's earlier bullet trains and redeveloped for the newest CR450. Germany uses ICE 3 neo of Siemens, France 5th generation TGV M Avelia Horizon of Alstom. In comparison to industrial companies digital companies such as Google and Apple have more room to find gaps in the U.S. tax system which was designed for the industrial period. Apple paid a tax rate of 9.8% in 2011 on its global profits in 2011 of $34.2 billion, a total of $3.3 billion. Wal-Mart for instance paid a tax rate of 24%, on its booked profits of $24.4 billion, a total of $5.9 billion. The issue is significant because of the large U.S. deficit and spending cuts by local and state governments for essential services, especially in California, where Apple is located. Apple is able to avoid state taxes on some of its profits by locating an office in Reno, Nevada. Nevada has zero corporate taxes, California's corporate tax rate is 8.84%. In the current fiscal year Apple is expected to earn $45.6 billion which if taxed at the rates companies paid in the 1950's - 30% in the 1950's compared to 6.6% in 2009 for corporate tax receipts according to a New York Times report- would enable the state of California to avoids some of the sharp cuts in funding to community colleges such as De Anza College only minutes away from Apple, Google and H-P. De Anza College's president says he simply cannot understand this, how the whole psychology of corporations and the public itself has changed over the years, to where a college where one of the Apple co-founders Steve Wozniak got his education in 1969-74, is now struggling to survive with funding cuts. The California college system of the 1950's and 1960's was funded by other companies tax dollars creating the educational resources which helped create todays companies- one generations responsibilities transferred to another generation that has failed to understand what this is about....
