New social insurance programs to cover 45 million uninsured Americans, and to make health care affordable for businesses and individuals, will be unworkable at currently projected rate of increase in health care costs of 6.2% a year for the next decade. The industry promised to reduce that by 1.5% through voluntary efforts, even though there is skepticism about whether they will deliver. The insurers are against a government sponsored health plan fearing it will drive them out of business. Insurers and health care providers are lobbying against the cuts in their Medicare payments, and insurers are fighting Obama's cuts to their private Medicare Advantage plans by a total of $176 billion over 10 years. Doctors are fighting a 21% cut in their Medicare fees scheduled to take place in January 2010. Pharmacuetical companies and makers of medical devices are concerned that new products will have to pass a cost-benefit test before being approved for coverage under Medicare. Its just that they all see the continued rise in costs as somehow unsustainable, especially in the current economic crisis, and share the feeling with business and the rest of the country that the system is broken. At the same time like the banks and bank executives, health care companies and their executives go on lobbying aggressively and doing things the old way, which raises questions about how well these systems that are broken can be put on the right path....

It captures the mood of those who know that the strong steps ofthe new administration and the Fed are advisable, but simply not convinced that these steps will lead back to prosperity in the years ahead. In the American economy built as it is on innovation, energy, immigrants, and independent spirit, the churning of companies as new ones take the place of the old, and new technologies and their commercialization, the virtues of policy driven goals however worthy are set against the limits and inherent weakness of government bureaucracies, and the crowding out of private investment and initiative as the government steps in. Compared to previous periods like the FDR administration when business skeptical about the policy of the Democrats remained critical, there is a different situation today when bipartisan policy has been developed for years and a consensus was reached after the Reagan years that was followed through the Democratic Clinton administration, so that critiques of policy can be used to improve the way things are done to address the economic problems facing the country. ...

Declining demand for gasoline powered cars compared to diesel in the Indian market, because diesel costs 4% less, led to total sale decline of 11% in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2012, to 1.01 million cars. After taking the recent writedowns Bankia should have setu provisions for losses on real estate bad loans equal to 48.9% of its real estate portfolio. The Spanish government said on May 25, 2012 that it would inject 19 billion euros to recapitalize Bankia. Yet this raises more questions about the rest of the banking system and the need to set aside adequate reserves for bad real estate loans. Extrapolating from the writedowns at Bankia for real estate losses, about 45 billion euros would be needed for the other Spanish banks, according to UBS. And this raises the question of how the government would raise the money to recapitalize the banking system, as Spain's borrowing rate on its 10 year bonds has increased to 6.45% in May 2012. If Spain provides government bonds to banks the markdown on the bonds would still need to be shown separately, and a large figure would be a sign of increasing riskiness to bond investors.

What he does and how he plays the selection board and the captain of the team know very well, which is why he was invited to play again for India. Ashish can bowl fast comparable to younger bowlers, and has played for India as long as other veteran players M.S. Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh. He conserves his energy by not playing 5 day Test matches. He can then give 100 percent to the 24 or more balls he may bowl in a game. He bowls at about 140 km per hour. In many ways Ashish has the right attitude for sports. Leaving aside the praise or criticism and concentrating on what is ahead. Not even thinking too far ahead. Sometimes it is just the next game, this year, which needs all the attention and can make all the difference.
