Increased hacking of domain names by scraping public directories for information on companies and individuals. A password is hacked or keystrokes detected by diversion to other sites. Once the domain name is stolen, the domain name's users are then transferred to some site in Eastern Europe or Asia. Some small business sites have seen huge sudden drop in users, one with a 80% drop, as a result of this. Result is layoff of employees, loss of revenues, and effort to recover the name. The scam perpetrators hack into the sites, sell information, and try to get ransom for returning the domain name. Small businesses lacking the security are especially vulnerable to new scams.

Krugman points out the risks for the U.S. economy as the U.S. loses export competitiveness with the euro reaching parity with the dollar. The huge shift from $1.50 to the dollar at one point to parity gives Europe a sudden strong boost. Europe needs the boost to escape a deflationary trap, and there is little that can be done for capital flows and exchange rates, says Krugman. He points out that many Federal Reserve governors were clueless of the impact this could have on U.S. growth, sanguinely assuming the U.S. would boost growth in 2015. Better says Krugman for the Fed to be very careful about raising rates at a time when wage growth is sluggish, and inflation low.

After attending a prestigious French university, Tidjane Thiam of the Ivory Coast, joined McKinsey & Co., and later worked for the government in Ivory Coast. He returned to business by joining insurer Aviva, and taking the position of CEO at British insurer Prudential PLC. Credit Suisse's board selected Thiam as the new CEO of Credit Suisse in 2015. This was an unconventional choice after the bank settled with the U.S. Justice Department for $2.6 billion, other legal issues facing the bank, and the tighter controls from Swiss regulators.
