Japanese public opinion shifts to a zero nuclear policy

Only 11% of the Japanese public favor keeping nuclear energy at the current 20-25% level according to a August 2012 poll by the Asahi Shimbun daily paper. Of the other two options the complete phase out of nuclear energy by 2030 gets 43% support and keeping it at 15% gets 31% support. Japan is seeing large demonstrations for zero-nuclear policy.
