Vast improvements in counterterrorism operations against Al Quaeda.

Britain's former head of overseas counter terrorism operations Barrett, who heads the UN group monitoring Al Quaeda and Taliban, says the capabilities and effectiveness of intelligence and operations have increased tremendously. This is happening just as younger Muslims of anew generation are less interested in religion and have no memory of earlier events, and their are fewer competent people in the militant groups.
