The shift is led by electronics and consumer product companies, Sharp, Sony, Panasonic, Canon, Daikin. Companies in the smartphone business like Murata continue plans to be close to customers in China. Auto companies Subaru, Toyota and Nissan continue plans to be close to customers in local regions. Electronics companies have unused facilities that can now be used for producing inside Japan.
