The big payoff for AMR investors in 2013 making it one of the best distressed investments ever

After the Justice Department initially denied the AMR merger with US Airways the stock dropped to about $2.00. It was at $38 in the beginning of April 2013. AMR went into bankruptcy in 2011. AMR investors now control about 40% of the new American Airlines Group stock. At one point AMR was valued at 90 million, at 20 cents a share.
