John F. Kennedy had the foresight to see the importance of closer relations between Turkey and the United States as part of the alliance of nations of the Free World. This is true today as the candidate to lead Turkey Mr. Kilicdaroglu told people on the Asian bank of Istanbul last week that Turkey stands firmly as part of western civilization. Kennedy cited Ataturk in this recording on the 25th anniversary of his death- "We are friends now and will be closer friends in the future" said Kemal Ataturk.
