Larger investments are needed in science and technology development, and in research and development, secondary and higher education, says Naushad Forbes, for India to reach its potential. He says industry has been too timid when it comes to setting goals for design, innovation, and research and development. He calls for a listening society and culture that is open to to outside ideas, continuously makes connections with the outside world, and is keen to apply new ideas learned in the interactions.
