Over 10,000 athletes gathered at the opening ceremony in a stadium that would normally seat 68,000 people. The governor of Tokyo in supporting the holding of the Olympics said it was to show that during the pandemic the spirit to carry on normally can be preserved. Now that the Olympics has started and all the precautionary protocol has been followed, millions of people around the world can see the games on television to catch some glimpses of their athletes.
