Tech company VK makes Russia's contribution to the Internet with Max to rival WeChat and Whats App. Max has the backing of the Russian government and is a messaging, ecommerce, all aspect platform. Russia learned over the years that its governmental processes could be subverted by apps from overseas. This is also the experience in India where democratic processes can be subverted by apps from overseas. As a result the idea of one internet is not real, internet not of the world, not of the US, not of India, not of China or Russia, but of one company monopoly of Google with a sub monopolist of Meta with its control of Whats App and social media- clearly unacceptable.

Three CEO's have come and gone at Boeing in a couple of years. CEO backgrounds in finance did not work, backgrounds in engineering also failed. Boeing is searching for a new CEO and this time what is sought for is a worker centric mentality from the heart and inborn that identifies with what workers go through on the manufacturing factory floor. A picture emerges about the cost of missing quality culture at Boeing, and the cost of a culture of pushing planes as fast off the manufacturing floor as possible. The Guardian reports that Boeing said it would use $4-$4.5 billion due to crisis costs after a Jan 5 accident of a nearly new Max 735 aircraft and other accidents. This includes costs related to regulatory scrutiny and costs related to lower aircraft production and lower deliveries and is almost the entire gross profit of Boeing in 2019 pre pandemic year. What this shows that quality culture is basic to manufacturing and it starts with respect for dignity of workers shown through training, education, wages and benefits and a worker centric culture replacing a culture of managers addressing purely financial aspects of the business. Instead of saying lets take care of the financial aspects of the business, saying lets take care of the process of manufacturing  so that a good process centred on workers on their own motivation taking responsibility on the factory floor that will produce good financial results for the company as a whole.   ...

What was once seen as a debacle on CNBC and Wall Street in 2015- the decision of CEO McMillon at Walmart to raise wages from 7.25 an hour to $9.00 an hour with share price drop of 10% turns into a big win by 2025. Mcmillon did not hestitate to show slides at NYSE for Earnings per share drop of 12% instead of 6%, $2.7 billion investment. Pay is now about $18 an hour in 2025 and this is only one metric as the benefits include free college and technical education, parental leave, more job training, job promotions, cleaner better stores. The remarkable thing is that it spread to other stores Target and TJ Maxx, and over time to a broad swath of American companies. Cost of living is an issue today for Americans in 2025, imagine what things would be like if leaders from the University of Arkansas with deep connections to the Bentonville region had not taken a decision independent of ideas on Wall Street and NYSE, CNBC. As McMillon retires the new CEO is also from the University of Arkansas with deep connections to the Bentonville area- John Furner, the current CEO of America region. ...

One of Boeing's major customers airline Norwegian Air has subsidiaries in Denmark and Sweden that have gone bankrupt. Boeing has 92 undelivered orders for 737 Maxs and 2 787 Dreamliner aircraft waiting to be taken to Scandinavia. Additional 219 orders from leasing companies for aircraft were cancelled. In addition airlines such as Emirates are renegotiating price of 787 aircraft orders. Boring's commercial aircraft division is using up $4 billion a month just to keep production and suppliers running. A gene variant that has come down from Neanderthals has increased the risk of severe covid is something learned from the research done by Svante Paabo of Sweden at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig. Paabo received the Nobel Prize for Medicine from his home country Sweden. His work shows the genomic changes that differentiate humans from Neanderthals, and also that Neanderthals contributed genes that still exist in humans.

Macy's story is told by figures showing an increasing share in a shrinking department store business. Macy's increased its share of department store sales to 44% in 2013, from 33% in 2006 by acquiring other department stores. As a result Macy's sales are declining in 2015. This benefits discount retailers carrying name brands at lower prices such as TJ Maxx, which has about the same sales as Macy's and over 3 times the market value. Macy's share price has fallen about 40% so far in 2015. As other stores such as J.C.
