The second time around European leaders are more adept at handling a new DJT administration in the US. Scholz meets with Orban in Budapest. All European leaders meet in Budapest to assert a combined approach to Ukraine, to the US tariffs plans. European Union leaders feel confident they can come up with solutions acceptable to Europe, and assert Europe's interests without being dependent on the US.

Even the collapse of the Scholz German coalition government with the FDP party and Lindner defecting is taken in stride by saying that a new coalition will take its place. The loss of the FDP is not seen as critical as it is down to less than 4% in popular support in Germany. Orban and Hungary are also brought into the discussion to present a united Europe.

The cost of living crisis and low export demand causes 0.2% decline in the German economy in 2024. This is the second year that the German economy is shrinking slightly. Germany in ocntrast to the US is not able to invest in the ageing and deteriorating infrastructure, in transportation and in roads and bridges, other investment needs, because Merkel placed a clause to limit spending into the German constitution. The FDP party in the German Social Democrats Greens FDP coalition acted as a brake on spending during the Scholz first term. The result is deep problems in German infrastructure. Take a a look at the moving BBC chart  "How the coronavirus spread" to see the dizzying speed at which the virus spread in America. In the beginning of March there are only about 200 confirmed infection cases in the U.S., by April 7 the number skyrocketed to 379,000. The public health experts were right including Dr. Fauci and Dr Birx. Even these experts may have been astounded at the speed with which it has spread, and going through a very difficult time convincing others including the skeptical public about the great danger to America. China's quarantine of the entire country of about 1 billion people, Italy's experience and data freely available from Italian doctors to American doctors, were warnings of what lay ahead for America.
