The German Chambers of Commerce and Industry President Heinrich Driftmann told reporters in Berlin that the new government should overhaul the tax code and improve credit access for companies. The German chamber wants to see changes to the corporate and inheritance taxes. He said that even if it was considered taboo companies needed more flexibility in the labor market. Merkel has promised labor unions that keeping social protections will be a priority in her administration. Economists say it will be difficult to cut taxes because unemployment will rise to 11% in 2011 as Germany's economy contracts 5% this year, and this will mean less tax revenues and increasing costs for social spending.

The Conservatives get a big boost from the 2021 budget. This budget increased the corporate tax to 25% by 2023 from 20% under previous Conservative governments of Cameron, and 19% under May. A survey by YouGov shows 55% of the British public thinks this budget is "fair," only 16% saying it is "unfair." This is the highest rating for any British budget since 2009. For Boris Johnson's Conservatives this means a 4% increase in popularity just in the last week up to 45% and Labour under Keith Starmer dropping 4% to 32%. This has opened a 13 point lead for the Conservatives likely to show up in the local elections coming up. This Conservative lead is higher than the 44% vote share for Boris Johnson's Conservatives in the general election.

And where migrants can pose a risk for women hesitant to go out in their own neighborhoods- something chancellor Merz of Germany has spoken about recently after incidents in Germany. ECHR has somehow got it wrong.  Labour and Conservatives have pondered this but not acted quickly enough in becoming trapped in a cultural guilt for the colonial era, when ordinary Britons simply want to get on with their lives in their neighborhoods as they did before migrants, and as did their parents and grandparents in Britain. For most of British history colonial policy was decided by a small upper class and the India Office, colonies policy by the Colonial Office, and the lives of working people in Manchester's cotton mills went on with no connection with the Empire.
