US Navy is rebuilding for protecting the Asia-Pacific, Japan and South Korea know the importance of the actions of the new Republican administration for Asia-Pacific and the Indian Ocean region, and tariffs can be a time to invest more in American manufacturing and show restraint in pricing. ...

Specifically the idea of 50% increase. 99 Irish citizens deported in 2025, a 50% jump over 2024, when one hundred thousand Irish citizens live in the US. The title could have read one tenth of one percent of Irish citizens living in the US were deported in 2025. Kennedy, Biden, Reagan were Irish in origins, most Irish are law abiding citizens, most are integrated into American society. The law applies equally to all- it only goes to show that the law applies to the Irish also and that it is fairly implemented consistent with US Supreme Court decisions supporting Congress and the Executive when it comes to immigration to the US, Latin Americans and Irish alike are treated equally under the law.

High level Swiss business team negotiators reach agreement with US for 15% tariffs in exchange for $200 billion in investment in US by 2028. One third of this investment has to take place in 2026. The Swiss business team met with DJT at the White House.

India and the US are nearing a trade deal that gives India a chance to become a major manufacturing center for fair trade supplying the US. Fears that nuclear facilities that are spread out thoughout the country of Pakistan could fall into Taliban hands. Especially one scenario in which the nuclear facility is moved and an insider tips off the Taliban, later it is taken by Taliban as it is being transported. Even as the terrorism increases in Pakistan, the country is continuing to produce more plutonium and more nuclear reactors. An estimated 70 to 100 nuclear weapons are located in Pakistan. Americans gave $100 million for securing these facilities and for security, but have no idea where that money went. And when it comes to the nuclear facilities the USA has no idea where they are, and is facing a dead end of "don't worry" from Pakistani military officials, increasing the concern from the Americans, as the same assurances were made about the sale of nuclear technology by Pakistani scientists in the black market. These claims turned out to be true. This time the US is not about to take any chances, and the Pakistani military is loath to disclose more information about the location of nuclear facilities, because the US may blow them up if the Taliban are seen as a threat to those facilities....

The US Senate approves $250 billion in new funding for the US to develop independent supply chains in critical products and materials. Ten new semiconductor plants will be built. The effort is designed to ensure the US is not dependent on outside sources that prove unreliable in a crisis. The pandemic has brought home the lesson as this was experienced in 2020 and 2021 with the US too dependent on supply from overseas.

The July 2017 unemployment rate drops to 4.3% from 4.4% the prior month. The Labor Department reported nonfarm payrolls up by 209,000. One in four of these jobs were in the restaurant business, resulting in more lower paying jobs. Economic growth remains low at 2%.

A better gauge of the jobless situation is the U-6 which includes underemployment and people on parttime jobs looking to work full time, and people who have stopped looking-it is at 8.6% in July, same as the prior month. It was 7.9% in late 2007 before the financial crisis.

Today's realities are multifaceted with many dimensions, economists knowledge is so specialized and only a small part of this reality changing on the ground and changing rapidly. Simply stated the US could be displaced as world power, if it does not act. The loss of its middle class is only the beginning, things could end up badly listening to economists and their textbook theories.
