The airline industry is also impacted by the severe shortage of aircraft parts. One Russian pilot says there are enough aircraft wheels and pads for one month maximum. A manager of Sukhoi Superjet says he gives the Russian airline industry one year if nothing changes. Safety concerns of pilots are being ignored says one pilot. Parts are being cannibalized from older planes for new ones to keep them running. With the nation's automobile and airline industries affected in this way the quality of living is affected in Russia only 3 months into this war. Having a large inflow of revenues from oil and gas for the 6-12 month period that it takes Europe to respond, and a large reserve fund of about $610 billion is not a real reflection of the strength of a country. In today's interconnected system of supply chain no degree of industrial strength would allow a nation to wage war through invasion with impunity without finding itself in severe difficulties for the quality of life in the country as the world community responds. Apple will approve borrowers and fund loans on its own without relying on banks as it offers buyers the option of paying in 4 payments in Apple Pay. An Apple subsidiary has obtained lending licenses in most states. Apple is able to do this easily because of the data it has collected to prevent fraud and because the amounts are small mostly under $1000. Payments will be deducted automatically from bank accounts using debit cars. Buyers are asked to link their debit cards to the account. Many buyers prefer to not pay interest charges, knowing this Apple prefers to do away with late charges and fees altogether in its way of doing business with its customers.

US inflation in May was up 1% over April 2022, and 8.6% above a year earlier. Of the 1% increase in May over April about half was from increase in prices of appliances and furniture and consumer items bought from stores such as Walmart and Target. The trend is shifting quickly as buyers are shifting purchases out of this category and spending more on travel and eating out, entertainment. Retailers such as Target are stuck with excess inventory and plan to discount items. This will result in an easing of inflation.

Shortage of semiconductors for cars are persisting but should ease at some time. Service cost continue to increase. Overall there should be an easing of inflation but not enough for the Fed to change its policy of interest rate increases.

The heat wave has also reduced agricultural production by 5-10% in countries that normally export from Europe such as France.

It was only after industrialization that Donbas began to develop with its large coal reserves. During this period the public use of Ukrainian was suppressed in the Russian Empire, and Russian established as the language of education says Hausman from the Leibniz Institute. After the Russian Civil War it was made part of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. During this Soviet period more and more Russian came to Donbas. People in Donbas always spoke Ukrainian and had ties to both Russia and Ukraine. Up to 2014 it was an important industrial region of Ukraine. After 2014 it has suffered considerably from the mines, and fighting in the separatist areas wanting to join Russia leaving it derelict and in a very poor state says DW.com. Between 2014 and 2022 Russian supported separatists fought the Ukraine army till a ceasefire was arranged with the Minsk Agreements. It is this disputed region that Russia is fighting for after the failure to take the capital Kviv which is closer to the Polish border in western Ukraine. Closest to Poland is the city of Lviv. ...
