Add to this the $2.3 billion pounds in settlement with the European Union for not collecting legitimate customs duties from imported textiles and shoes into Britain from China. Blunders and missed opportunities to help people  with cost of living crisis is a mark of the Conservative government in Britain. The Guardian reports that the case goes back to 2017 when the EU anti-fraud office said British authorites had allowed criminals to evade customs duties by making false claims about imports of clothes and shoes from China. It says that the EU found over half of all textiles and footwear imported from China were below the lowest acceptable prices.  ...

Sweden now has parental leave at 16 months and extraordinary benefits for mothers and parents. Shri Ranga Polymers of Karur in Tiruchirapalli district, Tamilnadu, takes 15 lakhs of single use discarded plastic bottles a day from different part of the state to produce fabric. It takes 6 to 9 bottles to make a jacket like the one worn by the prime minister in parliament. The process of making the fabric is for washing, drying and crushing the bottles, and passing the chips through a machine to form the polyester fibre that is then knitted into polyester fabric. The U-2 Dragon Lady was used to track the Chinese spy balloon at altitudes not reached by conventional airplanes. The USAF has a fleet of 31 U-2 planes. The U-2 made by Lockheed first flew in 1955 with flights over the Soviet Union. 2 U-2 planes flew around the Chinese spy balloon with sensors that enable it to examine the balloon and jam its electronic signals.

She tells Sansad TV in an interview that she was nervous and thought to herself how could a sportsperson handle such an assignment.
