Electricity recharging stations instead of gas filling stations that would use the existing electricity grid by extending it and use existing battery technology is an idea that is being tried by a group of companies with a $100 million investment by the Israel Corporation, and $100 million from other sources. It would also provide for swapping batteries for instant refilling. It is estimated that assuming a lifespan of 1500 battery recharges energy cost of all electric cars would be 7 cents per mile according to Mr. Agassi's company Better Place which is behind this investment.

Economists point to a limited impact of Fed chairman Bernanke's $600 billion quantitative easing program. Interest rates decreased but only for companies with top credit ratings. Northwestern University Professors Krishnamurthy and Jorgensen, say rates for households and many corporations- mortgage rates and rates on lower grade corporate bonds- have for a large part not been affected by the Fed's second round of quantitative easing. Another economist Mickey Levy, of Bank of America, says the move has boosted the stock market, eased credit conditions, and suppressed the dollar, but no one really believes the Fed buying Treasuries and bulking up its balance sheet can create permanent jobs.

The European Union is about to ban social media platforms from accessing children under age 13. She will announce this in her address to the European Union in September. Britain is tightening its ban. France is planning to ban setting the age at 16. The following countries are about to do this- Denmark, France, Germany, Spain, India, Indonesia and Malaysia. When the EU announces a ban it will apply to all of Europe. In the US Florida passed a ban setting age at 14 years. Across Europe children spend 4 to 6 hours on social media a day and for 60% of children it is having harmful effects on emotional health and creating psychosocial problems for children. At the present time the smaller payment per patient results in doctors only spending a few minutes with each patien. In the long run by diagnosing and treating diseases early through a better understanding of patients this upfront increase in payments should result in lower costs resulting from late diagnosis and treatment, and the problems that occur when the patient is not treated early on. It should also result in better and fewer errors in diagnosis.
