How the little known Hong Kong startup KAiOS Technologies with its low cost operating system is bringing low cost access to basic smart phone features, making them affordable for the 3 billion people lacking smartphones because of the cost. Jio phones of Reliance Technologies started this affordability change by working with KAiOS to bring out its $20 Jio phone and building a high speed 4G network in India to provide low cost data to these users. Reliance turned things upside down by bringing to India the cheapest data on wireless phone use of any country in the world. KAiOS is now the third most important operating system for wireless phones after Android and Apple. This is now spreading to Brazil, Indonesia, and Africa.

The NHS Nightingale hospital was built in 9 days by converting the ExCel convention center in east London. This is the largest hospital of this kind ever built with 4000 beds. Prince Charles opening it by video link from his home in Scotland said it was " a spectacular and almost unbelievable feat of work." The hospital is named after the founder of modern nursing Florence Nightingale. The British government drafted hundreds of army engineers to help contractors build the hospital in record time. It will need 16,000 staff and hundreds of volunteers.

Lifespan, Healthspan, Wealthspan, how about Mattering Span or Not Losing Purpose in Retirement? It is always on the mind of retirees how to do things to not lose the activity and sense of purpose in life. Much needs to be done to get retirees back into life, into participation in the economic life of the Nation. With so much knowledge and expertise, and the capital in trillions of dollars, this is apart of the population that has so much to offer and so much that can further advance the Nation in fields of education, health, the arts, culture, sports. With a slightly slower pace than youngsters, this group brings so much of value- knowledge and wisdom that can be tapped into at all levels of business activity with new ways and approaches to involvement.

The situation of ad cluttered mailboxes is a problem not just in the US, as shown in this report from Germany in DW.com. The Environmental Action Group DUH called for a new law in Germany to combat the flood of advertising trash in mailboxes. It estimates that 28 billion sheets of advertising material every year in Germany alone is printed by companies with the sole aim of putting it unsolicited in people's mailboxes. Currently people can opt out of junk mail in Germany by putting a sticker " No advertisements please," though this can be ignored by delivery people. An opt-in method differs by only people aho put stickers saying they are ok with ads being put in their mailbox. It is used in Amsterdam, Netherlands. An opt in method would save 6000 tons of paper and waste disposal trips, as well as save the air quality by half a million tons of carbon dioxide annually.

A wonderful video on how Ukrainian refugees in Berlin are going back home some for a short time to see friends and their homes. Six buses go back and forth taking people in both directions every day says the bus driver for this bus company for Bonn to Kviv bus. There are 800,000 refugees from Ukraine in Germany. Some young women have family who are soldiers in hospitals who they will see. Most have not seen their homes for 3 months.
