He reisgned hours before a stormy session in the House of Commons which embarrassed Prime Minister Brown after some revelations about Crosby,s role in the mess.

This also shows how trust is being lost in the Afghan government among the people as stated in a cable by a senior career foreign service officer from Britain in Kabul to the French government.
