Researchers at Gottingen University in Germany analyzing data from a study published in the Lancet Infectious Diseases monthly journal say countries around the world have only discovered on average about 6% of all coronavirus infection cases. The true total of infections could be tens of millions worldwide. Why this is important- the recurrence of the virus is a real danger even after it appears that it is under control, making relaxation of essential guidelines for prevention very risky.

Governments in many African countries are struggling to cope with the demand for food supplies.The UN's World Food Program is asking donor countries in Europe and America to provide $1.9 billion (1.4 billion euros).

Particularly at this time of coronavirus and climate change the issue of overemphasis on meat in diets around the world is a topic that comes up. Men trend more towards meat. The role of cows and meat in climate change is not adequately understood.

There is less understanding about the benefits of more vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and nuts in our food, with less meat and the need for public education, a role for health departments in many countries to create public education campaigns. Even less understood is the role of herbs such as used in Asian countries from turmeric and ginger to cinnamon in promoting health.

German chancellor Merkel announces steps for a new lockdown to tackle the second wave and infections daily of over 30,000 in Germany, critical levels for ICU beds in parts of the country. Stores, schools and daycare centers will close till January 10, to prevent spread of the virus during the Christmas period. The action was taken in consultation with 16 state leaders.

Stores now include hairdressers. Parents are given paid holidays to look after children as day care centers are closed. Communal singing in churches is not allowed.During December 24-26 a slight relaxation allows families to invite 4 adults and any number of children under 14 years. People planning to meet up are urged to isolate for a week to be safe.

To understand India for 1.2 billion people it is essential to understand Buddhism and its development, the Sankracharya effort to revive the Advaita Vedanta during a mature period in Buddhism in India and the development of culture, institutions and society. The collapse of the original ideas of Buddhism and the original ideas of Advaita Vedanta with the many creeds and sects of India, laid the ground for foreign powers in India. Italy showed excellent defensive skills and was one of the most improved teams says DW.com. Jorginho of Italy competes with Cristiano Ronaldo for most valuable player in Euro 2021. Ronaldo scored the most goals in Euro 2021.

The best goal scored was from Patrik Schick of Czech Republic with his goal from over the halfway line against Scotland using excellent technique.

The best performance for "hanging in there and self-belief" goes to Robin Gosens of Germany who scored one goal and two assists in the all important 4-2 win against Portugal.
