As interest rates for housing moved up from 3.1% to 5.25% on. 30 year mortgage the sales in the housing market in the US have slowed down. This WSJ report says the housing sales are expected to decline in future. The average existing home sold for an average price of $391,200 in April 2022 compared to $340,700 a year earlier.

IBM is using Peace Corps type programs to give managers and other employees exposure to foreign countries and cultures. They do small projects in groups to help people in Asian and other developing countries to gain exposure and learn how to work in other cultures and languages. Its anew way to do management training in alive setting for a business like IBM's that is now truly internationalized with a majority of sales coming from foreign countries. In 2009 500 people will participate and it will do small projects in 9 countries including Brazil, India, Malaysia and South Africa. The group spends 3 months before going overseas reading about their host countries, studying the problems they are assigned to work on, and getting to know their group members. Once in the host country they work with local governments, universities and business groups to do projects from upgrading water quality in alocal area to upgrading technology for a government agency. ays Kevin Thompson who conceived of this Corporate Service Corps and manges it. He says the goal is to create a transformative experience in a foreign culture. One IT manager says she has learned to work closely with tam members in India and China as aresult of this experience. Before this she would tend to assign something and leave it to them....

A report on the Status of German Unity from the German cabinet, says the eastern part of Germany, formerly the German Democratic Republic, suffers from a declining population and could have benefitted from the addition of young people as immigrants. As it stands the area with the lowest number of refugees or immigrants is where most of the xenophobia anti-immigrant sentiment exists.  It says the eastern part of the country including cities like Dresden need to develop a more receptive culture to attract young people for economic progress.

In a major western nation the Shadow Government is now being led by someone who did not spend childhood years growing up in that country, putting this out of reach for millions of children whose parents and grandparents have lived there for generations. The result is that the common people are losing faith in government. In that major western nation people are deserting the main parties looking for alternatives and common sense even though the laws on birthright citizenship were finally and belatedly changed in 1983. US vs Wong Kim Supreme Court case of 1898 is about Wong as a son of parents lawfully and permanently domiciled in the country, and was seen by the Supreme Court as a natural born child for good reason. That this does not apply to women coming to a western country to give birth specifically to gain citizenship for a child and then departing appears obvious. Just one year after a mother from West Africa arrived along with others who made the same journey from around the world to give birth for citizenship in the UK, the UK changed its laws to prevent this from happening again. In the US as it seeks to  follow other countries in Europe to prevent birthright citizenship used in opportunistic ways not inherent in genuine citizenship, this jurisdiction does not apply to people here illegally or temporarily.   The authors of this article in WSJ say temporarily as understood by ephemeral jurisdiction. They cite the citizenship clause.Sen. Jacob Howard (R., Mich.), sponsored the Citizenship Clause. Senator Jacob Howard argued that it “ought to be construed so as to imply a full and complete jurisdiction on the part of the United States.”    ...

The NBC/WSJ poll in April 2016 shows her with minus 40 negative ratings among men, mimus 72 among white men, among women minus 9 points and minus 25 points among white women. With minorities her net poitive with Latinos has dropped from 21 points positive in the first quarter to 2 points positive, and for African Americans dropped from 64 points positive plus to 51 points positive.
