He also says that investors looking to invest in oil because of the shortage psychology that has built up the price of oil and these investors cannot all be called speculators. Eni and Repsol the Italian and Spanish energy companies are owed $6 billion by the Venezuelan government for natural gas they supply from fields in Venezuela to the Venezuelan people. About 40% of natural gas supplies come from Ei and Repsol. Venezuela has not paid these companies as the economy collapsed. Eni and Repsol have continued the supplies because of the devastating impact on the people it it were cutoff. Under the new US arrangement where new companies can join Chevron as producers Eni and Repsol are planning to increase oil production in the country with some of the oil going to pay for the $6 billion owed.

Reliance India Limited to build 168,000 b/d Clean shale oil refinery in Brownsville Texas, to cut US trade imbalance of $58 billion with India by $15 billion a year, about 25%. Much of the product could be exported to India from the port of Brownsville in Texas. This helps improve relations with India as the US president was looking for ways to cut the trade deficit with India. The US India trade agreement is based on increased energy exports by US to India. US has a trade imbalnce with India of $58 billion which was an issue in recent trade talks with India. US wants India to get energy product from the US under the US India Trade Agreement. The president of America First Refining Trey Giggs says- "The United States has a surplus of light shale oil but a shortage of refining capacity designed to process it." This CLEAN refinery will strengthen the domestic supply chain. For India and Reliance (RIL) this is also a way to get out of the quagmire of getting supplies from the Middle East.   ...

Loss of $435 million of economic activity per day and oil shut ins in 2 weeks. As the Europeans sit out this naval blockade and US rethinks its participation in NATO, as the poorer countries in the world are affected by the shortages including Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and others around the world, the one baffling aspect is how far a nation (Iran)could let its economic prospects be affected to continue uranium enrichment. It is about the failure of another Middle Eastern nation to modernize and improve the living standards of its people, (after Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Syria and Iraq),  wasting a once in a centuries opportunity to do this wasting an oil dividend that will only last to 2035 when renewable energy may replace fossil fuels. Instead leaving the region with intermittent wars and destruction from the wars since 1950, falling behind in a world that is rapidly modernizing in China and India with about 3 billion people committed to modernization. ...

CERA study of 811 oil fields show that depletion rates will be 4.5% worldwide. Schlumberger's estimate is higher at 8%. CERA is on the optimistic side when it sees two Irans making up for one Iran lost. CERA estimates by 2017 33 million barrels a day will be lost from depletion. still it believes production would go up by 59 million barrels a day to 112 barrels a day. How can it say 59 its anoptimistic estimate of new stuff that will come out of the Caspian, Africa, Russia and other places in Asia and upto now unknown places. The reason its hard to estimate depletion is that OPEC and Russia are not sharing the data. CERA's estimate includes also stuff that comes from biofuels and natural gas liquids as half of that 59. As that 59 is 6 times today's Saudi output the estimates are coming under criticism and not widely accepted. IEA estimates demand will go up by 2.3% to 87.8 million barrels a day. But things may change as fuel efficiency becomes a big factor in reducing consumption and as millions of Asians join the world economy from rural areas the impact of more cars may not be as severe with cars that give 60 or so miles per gallon like the Tata Nano and the competitors it creates. And in the west the USA may not be so wasteful as it has been to make up for the increases in Asia of new motorists and industrial uses of energy. Meantime the gains from exploration at today's prices may provide additional output though not by what CERA's overestimate. ...

Immigration and drug flows became an explosive issue in the US by 2016, yet between 2016-2024 Venezuelan people outflows added up to 7.1 million migrants including about 1 million to the US, as Venezuela collapsed and Russia intervened to keep the regime.   None of this could have happened with major powers US Russian cooperation. Clinton, Bush, Obama, Western financial interests, failed to grasp the importance of US Russia cooperation and mutual respect. Obama denigrated Russia as insignificant because of its GDP.   Russia intervened in failing states but gained little, straining the good relations mutual respect from earlier periods of its history and interactions with the US.  DJT tariff on all importers of Venezuelan oil affect China to which Venezuela sent 55% of its oil exports over half a million barrels a day. It also affects India and other importers. These importers say experts, will shift to Russian crude preferring it to heavy oil from Venezuela. This is a sore point for Americans affected by violent crime from Venezuelan gang members reflected in recent election results. This also affects the sense of safety in American neighborhoods and in towns across America. The Linken Riley Act was passed in the US Congress as action on this issue. People in China, India, and in Europe, and some even in Silicon Valley in the US fail to grasp the way this has affected communities across the US when after decades of deindustrialization and shipping jobs overseas by American business, these communities are affected by a sense of lack of safety in their neighborhoods. There is also a failure to grasp the harm done by migration of 7.7 million people from Venezuela, almost a fourth of the country's population, because of mismanagement of the economy and crippling inflation, and the failure of democratic institutions to function effectively. A failure to grasp the extent of the economic and human disaster in Venezuela. Saudis make only a modest increase in production of 200,000 barrels a day taking production to 9.7 million barrels a day for 2008. The global market is for 86 million barrels a day with 40% of production coming from OPEC. Saudis make plans to increase capacity from 11.4 million barrels a dya to 15 million barrels a day with increased investments but this is thought to be ambitious. One former president of Aramco the Saudi oil company Edward Price thinks there are resource limits even in Saudi Arabia, as he sees the big fields topping off at 12 million barrels a day.
