The priorities of tackling post Brexit Britain  the pandemic, the economy, the northeast of England lagging behind, infrastructure building, remain much larger for Boris Johnson. It said the BBC chairman was appointed to the role by Boris Johnson in an improper manner contrary to the guidelines that require no conflict of interest in the making of the appointment. A sense that even an institution such as the BBC, with its increasing importance today as Britain, the European Union and the US make decisions on what sort of society to create for the future that best serves the interests of the people, is being upset in this important role by political meddling.

UK Sport, a British government body for investing in elite sport did 85 interviews with exceptional athletes. It found that exceptional athletic achievers all had some setbacks in life. The setbacks increased their motivation and were used for energizing by these athletes to try again. 

Setbacks were overcome and near miss individuals actually lived longer and won later because they persisted and tried again with enhanced motivation.
