Jimmy Carter comes back to us from a different era. He was born in a tiny town of Plains, Georgia, in 1924 and grew up on a family farm in a home that lacked plumbing, electricity, as a boy.  Jimmy Carter attended college for 2 years in Georgia, then enrolled at the US Naval Academy graduating in 1946. It shows the changes happening in the US with Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman in the efforts to industrialize America, bringing electricity and new opportunity for college education to rural areas in 1932-1952 which continued with highway systems under Eisenhower 1952-1960.  Carter also led the unwinding of the Democratic party with roots in the Roosevelts-Wilson era since 1902, going back to Teddy Roosevelt who as a Republican pushed hard for integrity, pro worker and antimonopoly policies in the administration. A process that went on with another Southerner, this time from Arkansas that led China's entry into the WTO and world trade without any safeguards for American workers 1992-2000. Policies that went unchanged under another Democrat Obama in 2008-2016. Instead of staying in the Navy he joined his family's peanut farm business in 1953, followed by running for governor of Georgia and grasping the opportunity to run for president as an evangelical from the South to bring moral integrity to the White House.   ...

Bank of America has exposure of $50 billion in a lawsuit related to the Merrill Lynch acquisition in 2009. The lawsuit has credibility as a securities fraud case and is easier to prove because it involves a shareholder vote. The issue being whether the management, Mr Lewis and Mr. Price, kept the exact nature of expected losses of $15 billion at Merrill Lynch a secret both from the chief legal counsel, Mr. Mayapoulos, and shareholders. This was before a crucial shareholder vote approving the acquisition. After the vote shareholders including large pension funds in Ohio and the Netherlands suffered losses, as $50 billion of Bank of America's stock value was wiped out on subsequent days when the true extent of losses were revealed.

An agreement for a aircraft purchase order of 300 jets is signed during Chinese president Xi Jinping's visit to Paris. China Aviation Supplies Holding Company and Airbus sign an agreement for purchase of 290 A320 planes and 10 A350 XWB jets. The deal is worth $30 billion. President Jinping also visited Italy where Italy signed on to the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative.

Automobiles, aerospace, pharmaceuticals and energy helped France reduce its deficit. French exports increase in 2025 and deficit decreases- euros 614 billion in exports to 703 billion in imports in 2025. Deficit with Germany down to euros 5 billion. Yet there is aproblem with deficit with China- going from euros 100 billion in 2019 to 315 billion euros in 2025. This is a major problem for France as it has been for the US.

The federal lending should not support the spiralling cost of these programs in graduate professional education. As a result most will have to get private funding. This is a territory half the size of the European Union, once called the Bengal Presidency under the British Empire, comprised of states of Bihar, Orissa, West Bengal, Assam, and Andhra Pradesh, a region where the Ganges and Brahmaputra rivers from the mighty Himalayas flow into the sea. It is a low moment for India similar to the period after the Proleterian Cultural Revolution of Mao in China by 1970 and the few remaining leaders under premier Chou-en-lai making a resolute effort under Deng Xiaoping to make a new effort to modernize and industrialize China working with the US and the European Union. That effort went through the initial phase to 1990 to familiarize Communist China with the US and European market systems, and a new phase to 2010 by which time most of these goals had been achieved. India is poised to make that scale of change today over the next two decades as it is already familiarized with the US and European market systems and its net step is in technological advancement and rapid industrialization at scale something that alone can meet the aspirations of the South Asian region. ...
