How leisure and services provide a larger degree of happines than continual acquisition of material goods. The shift to a more thoughtful lifestyle with careful spending on the things that create happiness, as slower growth and weaker job and housing markets create the shift to a new kind of normalcy. Travel, hobbies and outdoor activities, ways of spending time creatively which lead to more happiness, addding anticipation, and other ways of finding pleasure in the many small joys of life.

With the U.S. Federal Reserve pulling back from its monetary easing policy and the ECB holding steady with a low interest rate policy, bond investors are finding attractive buys for government bonds of Italy and Spain. 10 year government bonds of Italy yielded 4.2%, and Spain's government bonds yielded 4.3% on Aug. 22, 2013. By comparison German government bonds yielded 1.88%, narrowing the gap between the bonds of southern European countries and German bonds as the eurozone economies recover in 2013-2014.

Soren Skou, the head of the container division of Demark shipping line A.P. Moller Maersk A/S, says the volumes worldwide are expected to increase by 4% in 2012 over the prior year, compared to the 7% increase in 2011. This reflects the deteriorating conditions especially in Europe for goods from China. China is also losing competitiveness in relation to countries like Vietnam and Bangladesh for shoes, toys and labor intensive goods. Tim Smith, Maersk's head for the North Asian region, says the container shipping industry will see annual growth slow from double digit increases to somewhere between 5 to 7%.

The analyst is a Ms Chiesii who was arrested with her boss Mr Kurland. Mr Kurland was chief executive of New Castle Partners, which was part of Bear Stearns before it was spun off by JP Morgan Chase. Ms Chiesi was particularly aggressive about getting tips about Akamai Technologies and AMD and loves to use four letter words. In one conversation with Kurland she says- "Unless you were on the phone with the AMD executive and had an IBM executive at your house last night, who the f- would be buying it honestly?" Kurland started at Bear Stearns in 1991, Chiesi in 1997.
