Harvard loss of all federal funds for violation of Student civil rights. In a letter to Harvard's president the administration lawyers said the results of it's investigation shows Harvard violated the civil rights of students with it's indifference to the plight of Jewish students. 

“Failure to institute adequate changes immediately will result in the loss of all federal financial resources and continue to affect Harvard’s relationship with the federal government. Harvard may of course continue to operate free of federal privileges, and perhaps such an opportunity will spur a commitment to excellence that will help Harvard thrive once again.”

Insights from Jagdish Bhagwati- 1) Poverty actually declined under the previous government, it was displaced by the Congress not because poverty had increased but by the revolution of rising expectations and the democratic processes functioning in India. 2) The pressure cooker democratization in a place like Iraq is different from democracy in India, because India had democratic processes and rule of law under the British, which was followed by democratic processes functioning under the Nehru years and right upto to the present day. This is almost over 100 years of democratic practice. 3) Minority rights were respected by the post independence governments. 4) In China the government thinks riots are caused by inequality and rural-urban prosperity divide. Actually it is more because of the lack of democratic processes functioning in China to accomodate the revolution in rising expectations. 5) From a perspective of longterm sustainable growth this makes India's democratic functioning a better approach. Bhagawati does not mention the advantages in terms of private initiative that are fostered in a system of private capital and private companies. This dates back to the Tata enterprises under the British going back a hundred years....

Taa Consultancy Services is building a modern office complex with new architecture in Chennai, India, at a cost of $200 million. When completed it will house 24,000 of its 180,000 employees. Tata and other software consultancy firms in India use the modern office space to attract software engineers from elite colleges.

It meets the Euro III pollution standards and could meet Euro IV with some improvements. Part of the ingenuity of the engineers challenged with this task of affordable quality in design from scratch to reinvent the automobile- a car that has 21% more space and still is 8% shorter than the Maruti 800 the smallest car on Indian roads today. The engine is placed in the back and the wheels at the extreme corners of the car.

Delayed elective procedures and surgeries are a serious problem during the pandemic. To get some idea of the magnitude of the problem- Britain had 6 million on the waiting list for elective procedures at the end of October 2021. This is up 41% over March 2020 when the coronavirus was first detected, according to data collected from Britain's National Health Service. The same data show 300,000 were waiting for over 1 year compared to 3000 in March 2020.

Europe and China have set the same restrictions earlier that the U.S. is now planning to set in place to protect information from their countries and users on the internet.

The opposition in China and South Korea to Japan's release of slightly radioactive water into the sea stems from a distrust of Japanese data that supported by the International Atomic Energy Agency says the discharge does not affect public health. By next March 2% of the accumulated water will be released. In all 1.2 million tons are planned to be released over 30 years starting August 24, 2023. That water contains small quantities of radioactive tritium which Japan says is less than what Chinese nuclear plants release into the sea. TEPCO which manages the Fukushima plant decommissioning says it will post the data on release and level of radioactive material on its website with comparison to the levels seen as not affecting health that WHO has set.
