Jager decided to let both parents visiting West Germany to return to East Germany to their children, even though the father had a stamp on his passport banning a return. He says the Republican control of Congress could last till 2023 by which time current law would have separated millions of parents and children. In 2012 about 13% of schoolchildren in California and Texas had an undocumented immigrant as a parent, according to the Pew Research Center. And for the last 6 years of the Obama administration deportations have reached 400,000 a year, leading to a lot of broken families.

U.S. auto companies are steadily reducing the incentives that reduced profit margins for many years. Cash back offers of various kinds to subsidized leasing programs are being pared back steadily in a determined effort to raise profit margins by Ford Motor, GM and Chrysler. The average incentive was $2,124 per vehicle in October, which was 1.4% below the level the prior year, according to Edumnds.com. The increase in demand helps automakers. The annualized rate for sales in 2012 was 14.4 million. The figures for incentives by automaker released by Edmunds.com show GM with the highest figure of $3037 per vehicle in incentives for October 2012, followed by Ford Motor at $2788, and Chrysler at $2683. The gap between U.S. car makers and the Japanese has narrowed, with Toyota at $1621 and Honda at $1420 per vehicle in incentives for Oct. 2012.

Antonis Samaras, leader of Greece's New Democracy Party, opposes the tax increases mandated by the E.U.'s June 2011 program for Greece. He supports the spending cuts. The shrinking economy with no hope for recovery under the current plan will only worsen the situation. The Greek economy declined by 4.5% in 2010 and will decline 3% to 4% in 2011, and unemployment is already at 16%, with much higher unemployment among young people. Many experts, and editorials in the Wall Street Journal and the Economist, share this opinion. With the austerity program's cuts and tax increases deeply unpopular among ordinary Greeks Samaras's party is moving ahead of Prime Minister Papandreou's socialist party in public opinion polls. Papandreou is not expectd to complete his term of office which ends in 2013, and a change of government may come by the end of 2011. At that point the E.U. leaders will have to negotiate with Samaras. Samaras says he told German chancellor Merkel- if your plan works I will say I was wrong, but if it doesn't you will need a new plan....

Gome's share price fell 21% on March 27, 2012. The company is facing strong competition from online sellers. Its profits declined by 6% in 2011. China is seeing an upsurge for online retailers such as 360Buy.com and Taobao. Gome's internal estimates are for internet sales of home appliances to be 1 in 3 by 2016, up from 1 in 10 in 2010.
