Building self-confidence and difference from self-esteem. Self-esteem is about who you are. Self confidence is about how you can get things done, the self-efficacy. Both need protection from negative thoughts, and fostering a belief in trusting oneself, learning good habits that help get things done. Confidence is action oriented only by doing one learns. And resilience comes from overcoming adversity, taking the steps to overcome one by one, that tells you it can be done. Sometimes this is done in small steps and small goals. True self confidence is about getting up and trying, and trying again not thinking about the outcome, simply making the effort again and again. There is no attachment to results and this can be good for the human Spirit in a religious sense, a way that also connects to God and the Universe.

Apple launches the iPad Mini at a price of $329 against rival tablet devices, Kindle Fire HD at $199 and Google Nexus 7 at $249. The iPad Mini has a 7.9 inch screen measured diagonally compared to 9.7 inches for the iPad. It weighs about half the original iPad. The screen resolution is lower and the processor less powerful. The Mini iPad is designed to fit comfortably in one hand. Apple executive Schiller says the iPd Mini has two thirds more space than the Google Nexus 7 for surfing the web when turned on its side. The 1995 IPO of Samuel Adams and how it was made open to all investors, especially targeting its customers by attaching information tags on the IPO on each 6 pack of beer. For this IPO 100,000 customers sent in checks of $15, only 30,000 were accepted because the original estimate for the IPO was set at 30,000 shares. Founder Jim Koch says it benefitted the company because it created a loyal shareholding base and rewarded loyal customers- shares have since risen to $100 a share. Koch says it gave him the right feeling to do it this way.
