Pat Schumer Democratic Senate leader takes a position to support passage of the spending bill in the US Senate proposed by Republicans, as not doing so would hurt ordinary Americans. Schumer sees this as important as a shutdown would not be good for the American economy. Other Democrats see things only from the point of partisan politics and not the interests of the Nation as a whole.
