Republican efforts to woo Hispanic voters in the south and southwest U.S. which have majority Hispanic voters. Rep. Pierce of New Mexico does this by spending a lot of time with Latino voters, talking with them and hearing their concerns. This is his message to Republicans- spend time with and get to know Latino voters personally.

A singular feature of the first term of the Obama administration was the lack of individual accountability in legal settlements with financial institutions. During the second term larger settlements were the norm, but the situation as it relates to individual accountabiity remained the same, as pointed out in an editorial in the NYT on May 23, 2015, even when banks pleaded guilty to criminal charges for currency manipulation in 2015. This let banks call the situation "an embarrassment" and moving on, with something morally significant lost in the process not just for the public and country, but the banks themselves as future employees lack clarity of direction.

Krugman points out that the products from Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and other tech companies since 2005, have less impact in terms of productivity in manufacturing and other related parts of the economy, and more on consumers. In the period before 2005 tech developments were more focussed on industrial sectors of the economy leading to higher productivity improvement. Hearing my favorite music or using Google and Amazon does not add to productivity, in the same way that fundamental tech changes did in the period before 2005.

About 15% of the force are women for the U.S. forces in Afganistan and Iraq. Women face a high level of psychic stress integrating into a man's world in the army. Even after successfully completing missions stresses remain.

We took a different way to help millions around the world build educated informed mindsets that affects and shapes their lives. For a future that is open, global and digital, with everyone having access to high quality information. We believe in the renewal of America, renewal of Europe, the renewal of India, the rest of Asia, Latin America and Africa. The renewal of our supply chains, health, education, infrastructure, as we rebuild our countries after the pandemic. Literacy and knowledge we believe cannot thrive and grow in a world of web bots, web crawlers, or AI. This requires human curiosity, human learning, and human imagination. We take as inspiration the saying- “One has to be free, and as broad as sky. One has to have a mind that is crystal clear, only then can truth shine in it.” Every contribution whether big or small is precious- in this crisis and ahead.
